Revising my paper has always been something that is hard for me to tackle, and I never usually make large revisions. I started this paper with my four sources, thinking that they were concrete. I thought I knew which student’s essays I wanted to use, but I ended up changing my mind. I was originally going to use Student A’s essay as my prior student analysis, but as I was writing, I realized that her essay didn’t flesh with what I was trying to say as well as I was hoping it to. I decided that it was best to try and use another former student’s essay instead of the one I had originally chosen. So far, that has been the most major revision that I have made. I have tried to rework my topic sentence a few times, but both times I realized that I liked my original topic sentence, and that is what I wanted to write about. I was going to try and change my topic sentence into something that looked more “impressive”, but I realized that I couldn’t write about just anything while trying to make it meaningful. Writing about our connections and passions with food is something that interests me, and I think it fits well with all the readings we have read over. In terms of large structural revisions, I haven’t made many. I’m sure there will be many to be made after our review on wednesday!
